Obong Priesto is the founder of the "Plight Messengers Band" from Nigeria. His musical career began at the age of 12 and took off when he was 18. With a wealth of potential, he started by playing local shows and events as a drummer and background vocalist. By the age of 26, he transitioned to leading performances. Obong Priesto’s music is perceived as a divine message from the creator of the universe, a direct gift and calling from the Most High. Besides being a musician, he is also a priest, using his songs to convey messages that help, build lives, and foster learning. Primarily a reggae artist, Obong Priesto also works in film, commercials, media, and television. Lazie Indie Magazine recently had a brief chat with this upcoming musician. Let’s check it out!

got new techniques, if I listen to an instrumental beat, I can tell what topic, theme, or style is for it, I got much experience in the music world. On my musical highlights, I would say that life is worth living and understanding; the closer you get, the more you see within the creation.
Jay: What are your immediate future plans for 2024?
Obong Priesto: My plans for 2024 are to achieve my goals of becoming famous and spreading more messages to the world; the world requires more positive vibes and unique sounds to promote healthy growth and improve people's lives. One cannot live without music; music is a key to soul reflection.

Jay: What was the best advice given to you and what would you give as a piece of advice to fellow musicians?
Obong Priesto: To my viewers and followers, OBONG PRIESTO AND THE PLIGHT MESSENGERS SAY: Never stop planting, and do not waste your time planting a bad seed that will not produce potential for the future.
Be wise; the world is not your friend. Do good and dream of being great; no one is an ice land.

Jay: Thank you for speaking to us  all the best!!!
